Men may seem nonchalant when it comes to what they wear but the truth is they do care. You may see men wear shirts and jeans most of the time but that doesn't mean that their closet is only about jeans and shirts. In fact some men's closets can be as filled as a woman's closet.

Women's clothes come in different variations, more varied as compared to men's. If you must know, although women can wear pants, the type of clothing used to be considered for men only, men cannot wear skirts, the type of clothing designed for women and girls only. This is the reason why men's clothing is rather limited in variations.

Men's fashion can be simply divided into two and these are the tops and the bottoms. For this article the different types of bottoms are briefly discussed.

1. Board shorts. This is the perfect bottom to wear when going to the beach. The materials used to manufacture board shorts are different from the materials used to manufacture other types of bottoms. Judging from the term itself most surfers use this type of shorts.

This type of bottom is comfortable to wear and stays cool even when worn under the extreme heat of the sun. Board shorts are usually filled with tropical and fresh designs which usually remind you of summer and the beach.

2. Dress pants. Every guy should have a pair or two of these inside his closet. These dress pants are considered a closet and fashion must have. Men usually wear dress pants when they are attending some formal occasion or a certain black tie event. While some wear dress pants because it is part of their dress code at work. Dress pants work well with suits and dress shoes.

3. Jeans. It is hard to imagine a man's closet without a pair or more of jeans. Jeans are the perfect pair of bottoms to wear when you are out for a casual walk around town. This is also great when you are on the road. Jeans are versatile and you can pair it with almost anything. Jeans are made of denim, a thick and very strong material. This is another must have in an alpha male's closet because these type of bottoms never go out of style.

4. Capri Shorts. Whoever said that these types of bottoms are for women only is totally wrong. Capri shorts can also be worn by men (of course, the design is not the same as the women's version). Capri shorts are perfect for summer because it is comfortable to wear. It can also be worn on camping trips as well as to the beach.

5. Boxer Shorts. These are dual purpose shorts. Boxers can be worn as sleep wear or as underwear. Boxer shorts are usually made of cotton and are very comfortable. Although it can be worn as underwear, boxer shorts don't really provide enough support as compared to the conventional briefs.

Men can be fashionable too and all they have to do is mix and match the tops with the different types of bottoms.
