Five Hats For Him

If your man doesn't have time to cut and groom his hair, he has a quick fix up his sleeves: to wear a cap or a hat. The most informal and everyday situations call for the good-old cap, but when more formal occasions require your man's attendance, he should consider wearing a hat. To know which hat to buy for your man, check out what the following list has in store for him.

• BERET. Noted for its softness and for the absence of a brim, a beret is closely associated with the head gear of military personnel. Nowadays, however, it finds perfect acceptance among artists' circles and is a favorite item by a number of women as well. The beret looks good if your man wears a pair of slacks and some buttoned-down top.

• COWBOY HAT. Definitely a league of its own, a cowboy hat is noted for its conical crown which is creased in the middle, and for its brim which is upturned on the sides. This hat is often sported by cowboys in commercials and movies, and by participants of rodeos. The piece looks good if your man wears a cowboy's getup: boots (ones with spurs are surefire ways to score popularity points), denim pants, checkered or plaid undershirts and a leather jacket to match.

• FEDORA HAT. Characterized by a brim that somewhat droops downward to conceal the eyes, the Fedora hat is the perfect accessory to create an air of mystery about you. Although the Fedora was first popularized by women in the early 20th century, it is one head wear that suits men to a “T” as well. This hat looks good if your man dons a trench coat, mimicking the look of Detective Dick Tracy.

• FISHERMAN'S HAT. Lacking the mysterious brim of a Fedora hat and the towering crown of a millionaire's hat, the fisherman's hat is a piece that prides itself of simplicity. It has a crisp and straight brim that is enough to prevent squinting, without attempting to mysteriously cover the eyes. Definitely not a piece solely worn by fishermen, this hat is commonly seen sported by professors and decent characters of old movies as well. A fisherman's hat looks good if your man wears some slacks or khakis, a light long-sleeved top (whose sleeves you can roll) and a gentlemanly vest.

• MILLIONAIRE'S HAT. Characterized by a crown that towers over your head, the millionaire's hat is one head wear that will definitely let you stand out from the crowd. It is typically black and crisp, and best exemplified by respectable Englishmen in movies, and show presenters and magicians in well-loved Las Vegas shows. This hat looks good if your man wears non-denim pants and a formal tuxedo to match, especially one that has a tail coat.

With these hats, your man can look like an artist, a cowboy, a detective, a school professor or a millionaire. Take your pick and grab one for him today.
